Life Cycle Cost
This is somewhat of a misnomer. It should be life cycle savings. To compare what a conventional system would cost you, compared to geothermal, you must complete 3 other factors, Installation, Operating, and Maintenance. When you figure in the installation expense you must take the entire cost of installation, then subtract out the tax credits, the energy company credits, and the manufacturer’s credits. The same must be done with operating costs and maintenance. The life span of geothermal must be factored out over a set period to determine the savings. Roughly, you will have an overall savings of around 60% on the operating and maintenance costs, as compared to a conventional system. We, at DeRocher Service, will be happy to assist you on compiling all these figures.
